POST-TENSIONED SLABS

The post-tensioned slabs consist of reinforced concrete slabs, postensioning through the use of high resistance steel cables which are installed with a predetermined curvature to create reactive forces within the structural element, and anchored through wedges to end anchorages.

Once the concrete slab has been reinforced and hardens, each cable is stressed independently in accordance to the indications for the project. This system offers greater and improved creative possibilities for the design, allowing more lighting, free spaces, and slenderer and lighter structures.

Additionally, it is important to highlight that with this construction system the traditional static beams can be eliminated, thus achieving greater useful height from floor to floor.

The construction of the building Torre Cube is an example of the advantages offered by this postensioning construction system.
